Im Dezember 2020 wird Andrea K. Schlehwein für ihre choreographische Arbeit in Zusammenarbeit mit dem von ihr geleiteten und ins Leben gerufene NETZWERK AKS vom Land Kärnten ausgezeichnet. Sie bekommt den Landeskulturpreis in der Kategorie ‚Anerkennungspreis für besondere Leistungen im Bereich der freien Kulturarbeit‘. Dies zum Anlass nehmend, freuen wir uns, einen Einblick geben und einige der Netzwerker*innen vorstellen zu können.
Die Initialzündung für die Entstehung des Netzwerks waren die Produktionen verschiedenster Tanzstücke ab dem Jahr 2009. Von da an hat Andrea K. Schlehwein von Millstatt ausgehend mit viel Leidenschaft und mit einer schier unerschöpflichen Inspiration ihre tänzerischen Produktionen in die Welt gebracht. Mit ihren Stücken war und ist das NETZWERK AKS immer wieder bei regionalen aber vor allem auch internationalen Festivals und Kunstvenues zu Gast. Durch ihre Arbeit als Dozentin an der Korean National University of Arts hat sich parallel die AKS Seoul Section ausgebildet, die, von Seoul ausgehend, ebenso international mit AKS-Stücken auf Tour geht. Die Verbindungslinien sind beinahe weltumspannend, die Summe der einzelnen Teile ist dennoch eins und wird von einem solidarischen, weltoffenen und kollegialen Geist des Miteinanders getragen.

Ein Dank geht an alle NETZWERK AKS artists, die mit ihrer inspirierenden Aufgeschlossenheit und ihrem solidarischen Freundschaftssinn das Engagement und die Arbeit, über all die Jahre und all die Hindernisse hinweg, möglich gemacht haben.
Nachfolgend stellen einige NETZWERKER kurz sich selbst und ihre aktuellen Arbeiten vor:
In December 2020 Andrea K. Schlehwein will receive an award from the Austrian province of Carinthia for her choreographic work with NETZWERK AKS, whose initiator and artistic director she is. She is awarded the Landeskulturpreis (cultural award) in the category 'Recognition Award for Special Achievements in the field of independent cultural work'. We want to take this as an opportunity to give a bit more insight into NETZWERK AKS and to introduce some members of the NETZWERK.
The initial spark for creating the NETZWERK was the creation of a number of dance productions from 2009 onwards. Since that time, Andrea K. Schlehwein, from her base in Millstatt, Austria, has taken her dance productions into the world with lots of passion and seemingly inexhaustible inspiration. The NETZWERK AKS and its dance productions have been and still are regular guests at regional and international festivals and art venues. Through her work as a guest professor at the Korean National University of Arts, AKS Seoul Section has developed in parallel, which also tours pieces by Schlehwein internationally from its home base in Seoul. The lines of connection are almost spanning the whole world, yet the sum of the individual parts is still a unified whole, supported by a spirit of solidarity, cosmopolitanism and collegiality. The international collective is characterised by a colourful complexity of strong artistic quality as well as a high degree of internal compatibility. Year after year, artists come together in ever new constellations, each of them bringing in a wealth of experience, in order to work on AKS as well as collective productions. According to Andrea K. Schlehwein, the NETZWERK AKS "has developed from within itself and keeps on growing dynamically, depending on the needs of my productions and those of its members".
We want to thank all NETZWERK AKS artists whose inspiring open-mindedness and sense of friendship and solidarity have made possible the dedication and work for all these years, past all obstacles.
Below, some of the NETZWERKERS are shortly introducing themselves and their current activities:
Marion Louise Buchmann (DE)
Aktuell arbeite ich an der Erstellung eines neuen TanzKunstVideo, zu einer Ausstellung in 2021 - ISOLATION VERSUS KOMMUNIKATION - aus Videosequenzen einer vergangenen Tanztheateraufführung, in Verbindung mit aktuellen neuen Videoaufnahmen die sich aus der Kommunikationslosigkeit und Isolierung der momentanen Situation des nicht miteinander sein können, herauskristallisiert. Tänzer- und Performerinnen sind Chandana M. Hörmann und Lydia Klement.
Es war immer eine sehr intensive, künstlerisch hochkarätige Schaffensperiode in der Zusammenarbeit mit Andrea K. Schlehwein und als Mitglied im NETZWERK AKS.
Mir wurde dieses u.a. 2010 als Co-Choreografin und Trainingsleiterin zu dem Tanzstück „Ariadnes Faden“ zuteil.

Currently, I am working on creating a new TanzKunstVideo for an exhibition in 2021 – ISOLATION VERSUS COMMUNICATION – from video sequences of a past dance theatre performance, in connection with current new video recordings, emerging from the lack of communication and isolation of the current situation of not being able to be with each other. The dancers and performers are Chandana M. Hörmann and Lydia Klement.
Collaborating with Andrea K. Schlehwein and being a member of NETZWERK AKS has always been a very intense, creative process of high artistic quality.
I had the chance to do this as co-choreographer and training leader for the dance piece "Ariadnes Faden" in 2010, a.o.

Kooperation mit büro für tanz | theater | produktionen + NETZWERK AKS
Ich arbeite site specific, an einem Geflecht mit dem Material Rafia aus Indonesien, einer glänzend breiten Verpackungsschnur. Eine großflächige, blau gespannte, begehbare Meeresfläche entsteht, in die hinein getaucht werden kann. Perspektivänderungen auf eine bekannte Umgebung entstehen beim ‚Schwimmen‘ im Außenraum. Die Installation = ein offener, veränderbarer Prozess.

I work site specific, creating a sort of web from the Indonesian material rafia, a shiny wide packing cord. The result is a large, blue, stretched, walkable sea surface that can be divded into. A sense of 'swimming' in the outdoor space, shifts in perspective against a familiar surrounding are created. The installation = an open, changeable process.

Mein Name ist Corrado, ich habe Andrea und Eleonore im fernen...Osten kennengelernt! Wir drei nahmen an einer Plattform für zeitgenössischen Tanz teil. Oft saßen wir in diesem beiden Tagen dicht beieinander. Unsere Vision, unsere Geschmäcker waren ähnlich: Kurz gesagt, seit 2005 sind wir auf die eine oder andere Weise in Kontakt.
Einmal ging es von Andrea aus, die mich 2011 einlud, in ihrem Projekt Route #11 zu tanzen. Ich war 45 Jahre jung und es war mir eine große Ehre und ein Privileg, Teil des NETZWERK AKS zu sein. Einer meiner Zehenknochen erinnert sich noch heute daran :-) Es war meine Schuld – ich dachte, ich wäre wieder 30.
Ein anderes Mal kamen die beiden zu meiner Hochzeitsfeier, wo sie zwischen einer Menge von Italienern und Slowaken wahrscheinlich einen eher unverständlichen und langweiligen Abend verbrachten.
Ich bin ihnen also etwas schuldig.
Und ich? Ich habe mein Leben mit Tanzen verbracht, mehr Ballett als zeitgenössisch, und jetzt bilde ich in Triest, meiner Wahlheimat, eine neue Generation von Tänzern heran.

My name is Corrado and I met Andrea and Eleonore in the far...east! The three of us were following a contemporary dance platform for buyers. We have been spending those two days often seated close to each other. Our vision, our tastes were similar: To make a long story short, it is since 2005 that we are in touch in a way or another. One way has come from Andrea, inviting me to dance in her project Route #11 in 2011. I was 45 years young and it has been a complete privilege and honour to be part of NETZWERK AKS. A bone of my toe still remember that experience :-) it was my fault, as I was thinking to be 30 again. On the other way, the two of them were present at my wedding's party, in between a lot of Italians and Slovaks, probably spending their more incomprehensible and boring evening. So I'm always in their debt. What about me? I spent my life dancing, ballet more than contemporary, and now teaching and growing new generation of dancers in Trieste, my city of choice.

Die Arbeit mit Andrea und dem AKS-Team hat mich zu einem Nachdenken über meine Erforschung und Verarbeitung theatralischer Ideen inspiriert: Insbesondere habe ich ihre Methode übernommen, Bilder und/oder Zeichnungen zu verwenden, um meinen choreographischen Gedankengänge besser zu folgen und sie zugänglicher zu machen.
Meine jüngste Arbeit "The Body is an Archive" ist eine immersive Installation aus kurzen, geloopten Videoarbeiten, Standbildern und einer Live-Performance, in der untersucht wird, wie die Erinnerung durch das Vokabular des sozialen Tanzes in unseren Körpern fortlebt.

Working with Andrea and the AKS team was inspirational to my thinking about how I investigate and process theatrical ideas: in particular, I’ve borrowed her methodology of using images and/or drawing to more fully access and follow the threads of my choreographic thinking.
My most recent work The Body is an Archive, is an immersive installation of short, looped, video pieces, still images, and a live performance, exploring how memory lives in our bodies through the vocabularies of social dance.
Unita Gay Galiluyo (PH/DE)
Die Zeit verfliegt und ist bestimmt durch elf Jahre Zusammenarbeit mit dem NETZWERK AKS unter der Leitung von Andrea K. Schlehwein. Es war eine abenteuerliche, produktive, sich immer entwickelnde Reise. Die Zusammenarbeit und der Austausch mit verschiedenen Künstler*innen/Tänzer*innen/Lehrer*innen sind intensiv und schaffen eine Verbindung, die sich immer wieder zu etwas Neuem verzweigt und den Schaffensprozess frisch hält. Nach vielen Jahren der Zusammenarbeit entsteht eine Beziehung der Koexistenz, die darauf abzielt, ein gemeinsames Ziel zu finden.
Aktuell arbeite ich als Tänzerin mit der Freiburger Choreographin Emi Miyoshi an ihrer interdisziplinären Tanzperformance RELAY-tionship. Darin spielt das miteinander Verbundensein eine zentrale Rolle und, vor dem Hintergrund der pandemiebedingten sozialen und körperlichen Isolation, geht es vor allem auch um die Frage, wie das Gefühl des miteinander Verbundenseins, ohne körperliche Nähe aufgebaut werden kann. Gemeinsam mit meiner Performancepartnerin Winnie Luzie Burz (Gesang) werden neue Formen der körperlich künstlerischen Zusammenarbeit erprobt. Mittels eines E- Stethoskops und Sensoren werden Herzschläge, Körpergeräusche und Bewegungen als Klangperformance in der neuen Immersive-Audio-Technik dem Publikum über Kopfhörer unmittelbar erfahrbar gemacht.
Time is flying, and defining eleven years of working and collaborating with Netzwerk AKS, headed by Andrea Schlehwein. It has been an adventurous, productive and evolving journey. The collaboration and meeting of different artists/dancers/teachers, intensify and make a connection that branches into something new and refresh the process. After many years of working together, it establishes a relationship of co-existence that aims to share a certain goal
At the moment I work as a dancer with the Freiburg based choreographer Emi Miyoshi for her interdisciplinary dance performance RELAY-tionship. In this performance, connectedness with each other plays a central role and, against the backdrop of the pandemic and its social and physical isolation, the question is, how a feeling of being connected to each other can be established without physical closeness. Together with my performing partner Winnie Luzie Burz (vocals), we are testing new forms of physical-artistic collaboration. By means of an e-stethoscope and sensors heartbeats, body sounds and movements are made directly perceptible to the audience via headphones as a sound performance with this new immersive audio technology.

Es ist ein besonderer Moment für die Choreographin zahlreicher Tanzstücke, Initiatorin eines internationalen Netzwerks und Begründerin des ART SPACE stift millstatt – diese Auszeichnung für ihre besonderen Leistungen ist wohlverdient und ich möchte Andrea von ganzem Herzen dazu gratulieren.

Die kreative Idee, die sich hinter “rozdILovI multilingual“ verbirgt, ist die Suche nach einer hybriden Kunstform, einer organischen Synthese, die es vermag Dichtkunst, Performance, Video und Musik auf innovative Weise miteinander zu vereinen.
A big thanks to Andrea and the entire NETZWERK AKS for the long lasting collaboration, which gave me many unforgettable and wonderful moments on stage, on tour and beyond. It's a special moment for the choreographer of many dance pieces, initiator of an international network and founder of the ART SPACE stift millstatt – this award for her special achievements is well deserved and I want to congratulate Andrea from the bottom of my heart.

Ich fokussiere mich auf das Unterrichten von Auszubildenden und Student*innen im zeitgenössischen Ballett und Vinyasa Yoga. Als Darstellerin und Performerin arbeite ich mit Marion Luise Buchmann in ihren KunstTanzVideos zusammen.
Ich habe Andrea K. Schlehwein vor 20 Jahren als Kollegin in der Theaterarbeit mit Achim Freyer kennen und schätzen gelernt und später mit ihr als Tänzerin/Darstellerin in ihren eigenen Projekten im Netzwerk AKS zusammengearbeitet.

Ich bin seit 2020 Mitglied im Netzwerk AKS, kreiere seit 2018 meine eigenen Produktionen und entwickle und unterrichte Kurse für junge Tänzer am Movement Re-Training Center. Gleich nach meinem Abschluss bei Codarts Rotterdam wurde ich ebendort Gastdozentin in der Abteilung für Tanzpädagogik. Im Jahr 2020 bin ich Kandidatin für die A . I . R . residency @ART SPACE stift millstatt.

Georgia Kapodistria (CY/DE/DK)
Georgia ist eine freischaffende Tänzerin mit ihrer Basis in Kopenhagen, Dänemark, die in Projekten mit den Schwerpunkten Performance, Vermittlung und Forschung tätig ist. Ein wichtiges Thema in ihrer Arbeit ist derzeit der politische Begriff der Dekolonisation in Bezug auf ihre künstlerische Praxis. Georgia arbeitet in Dänemark u.a. mit dem Königlich Dänischen Theater, dem Åben Dans Theater und der MYKA Company und erfreute sich in den Jahren 2015 - 2016 einer Zusammenarbeit mit dem NETZWERK AKS, wo sie unter der choreografischen Leitung von Andrea K. Schlehwein in "Things we lost in the fire" und "Here and Now" auftrat.

Georgia is a freelance dance practitioner based in Copenhagen, Denmark, who is active in projects focusing on performance, facilitation and research. A vibrant subject in her work at the moment is the political notion of decolonization in relation to her artistic practice. Georgia collaborates with The Royal Danish Theatre, Åben Dans Theatre, MYKA company, a.o. in Denmark and enjoyed a collaboration with Netzwerk AKS during the years 2015 - 2016. Under the choreographic supervision of Andrea K. Schlehwein, she performed in 'Things we lost in the fire' and 'Here and Now'.

Seit mehr als 4 Jahrzehnten kenne ich Andrea, seit mehr als 3 Jahrzehnten arbeiten wir immer wieder zusammen. Ich schätze die gemeinsame Arbeit, den kreativen Prozess, auch mit den jeweils involvierten Tänzer/innen und anderen Mitwirkenden ungemein, denn er ist wirklich gekennzeichnet von der tiefen Suche nach Bildern, die die Seele berühren. Die gegenseitige Inspiration und Wertschätzung macht den Arbeitsprozess immer spannend und überraschend.
Meine diesjährigen Arbeiten umfassten u.A. die Butohproduktion "Zero" mit Minako Seki, der Film "Aeon Oz" von Heinz Kasper und eigene Lichtobjekte und Installationen.

I have known Andrea for more than 4 decades and we have worked together from time to time for more than 3 decades. I greatly appreciate the collaborations, the creative process, also with the dancers and other participants involved, because it is really defined by a deep search for images that touch the soul. The mutual inspiration and appreciation always makes the collaboration process exciting and full of surprises.
My work this year includes the Butoh production "Zero" with Minako Seki, the film "Aeon Oz" by Heinz Kasper and some of my own light objects and installations.

Vor kurzem habe ich eine einjährige Kooperation als Tänzerin und choreographische Assistentin für das multidisziplinäre Projekt „Trust“ unter der Leitung von Dorit Weintal zu Ende gebracht.
Der Performance-Event "Celebration of Uncertainty" zusammen mit dem E-Gitarristen Arvind Ganga, der Performerin/bildenden Künstlerin Branka Zgonjanin und dem Klangkünstler Gert-Jan Prins steht kurz bevor.
Es war schön, im Oktober in Salzburg unter der Regie von AKS im Stück #shivering zu tanzen, und ich hoffe, dass unser nächster Auftritt in Ljubljana im Januar ebenfalls stattfinden kann.

I just finished a year long process as a dancer and advisor for the multidisciplinary project Trust directed by Dorit Weintal.
The performance event Celebration of Uncertainty together with electric guitarist Arvind Ganga, performer/visual artist Branka Zgonjanin and sound artist Gert-Jan Prins is coming soon.
I was happy to dance in #shivering directed by AKS this October in Salzburg and I hope that our next performance in Ljubljana in January will be possible too.

In der aktuellen Pandemiesituation bewegen wir uns und arbeiten weiterhin zwischen den Kontinenten, unter dem Motto „Compost“ als übergreifendes Konzept, das in verschiedene Richtungen und Formate ausstrahlt und die tiefe Beziehung zwischen Körper und Umgebung erforscht und hinterfragt, wodurch wir unsere tiefe Sorge darüber ausdrücken, was die Zukunft für unseren Lebensraums bringen wird.
Seit wir Andrea und Eleonore zum ersten Mal in Barcelona begegnet sind, ist das NETZWERK für uns eine Plattform, die frühere Schaffensprozesse – einige davon unsere eigenen und einige unter Leitung von AKS – in einem Umfeld von Austausch, gegenseitiger Fürsorge und Freundschaft genährt hat. Schöne Erinnerungen an wilde Abenteuer und kreative Zeiten zaubern uns ein lang anhaltendes Lächeln auf die Lippen, und wir freuen uns immer wieder, nach Millstatt zurückzukehren, uns auszutauschen und uns auf diese Weise weiterzuentwickeln.

Under the ongoing pandemic situation, we find ourselves still moving and working among continents under the motto “Compost” as an umbrella concept that radiates in different directions and formats for researching and enquiring on the deep relation among bodies and surroundings, expressing so our vital concern of what is next for us as habitat. Since we met with Andrea and Eleonore first time in Barcelona, we feel the NETZWERK as a platform that has nurtured former processes, some of our own and also under AKS direction, in a context of interchange, mutual care and friendship. Warm memories of crazy adventures and creative times are evoking long standing smiles and we are always happy to return there, meet and like this continue evolving.

Ich unterrichte Yoga, Tanz für Erwachsene und Kinder sowie Ballett für angehende Musical Darsteller. Momentan befinde ich mich noch in der Svastha Yogatherapie Ausbildung.
Ich arbeite gerade mit Theaterlabor Inc. Darmstadt, Inclusive + Professionelle Theaterkunst als Tänzerin und Choreografin an dem Stück "Ich Ich Ich" - Premiere voraussichtlich 9.01.2020. Das Foto ist von der letzten Produktion "Zeit- Eine kurze Reise auf dem Fluss der Zeit".
Meine Erfahrung mit Andrea ist sehr intensiv, mit ganz vielen tollen Momenten, die zurückgehen bis 2009. Die Arbeit ist immer sehr tiefgründig gewesen, oft auch sehr emotional und fordernd. Freue mich, dass Andrea und das Netzwerk den Anerkennungspreis bekommen: das hat sie verdient.
I teach Yoga, dance for adults and children as well as ballet for aspiring musical performers. At the moment I'm also still following a Svastha yoga therapy education.

My experience with Andrea has been very intense, with many great moments going back until 2009. The work has always been very profound, often very emotional and also challenging. I am happy that Andrea and the Netzwerk have received the recognition award: she deserves it.

Rosalie Wanka (DE)
Ich bin als Tänzerin im zeitgenössischen und klassischen Tanz sowie im Tango ausgebildet. Ich hatte die Gelegenheit, in Andreas Produktion Route 011 und einigen kleineren Formaten mitzuarbeiten und bin im Rahmen der Plattform light on/light off auch einige Male mit meinen eigenen Arbeiten aufgetreten. Aktuell arbeite ich an meiner neuesten Produktion ASYMMETRICAL ENCOUNTERS, die auf einer Erforschung von Machtverhältnissen und Geschlechterrollen als Narrative im zeitgenössischen Tanz und argentinischen Tango basiert und – hoffentlich – im Februar 2021 in München Premiere feiern wird.
Meinen herzlichen Glückwunsch an Andrea und das Team für den so wohlverdienten Preis! Die Zusammenarbeit war mir über all die Jahre hinweg eine Freude und es war schön, dem NETZWERK beim Wachsen und der Weiterentwicklung zuzusehen. Ich hoffe bald wieder nach Millstatt kommen zu können!

I am contemporary, classical and tango trained dancer. I had the chance to work in Andrea's production Route 011 and several smaller formats, I also performed several times my own work at the platform light on/light off. I am currently working on my newest production ASYMMETRICAL ENCOUNTERS, based on a research about relations of power and gender roles as they are narrated in contemporary dance and argentine tango, to be premiered - hopefully - in Febuary 2021 in Munich. My congratulations to Andrea and the Team for the prize, so well deserved! The cooperations were a pleasure all these years and it was beautiful to see Netzwerk grow and transform. Hope to come back to Millstatt soon!

Ich komme ursprünglich aus Salzburg, lebe seit vielen Jahren in Amsterdam und hatte 2012 das Glück, Andrea und Eleonore ausgerechnet in Seoul, Südkorea kennenzulernen. Seither war ich immer wieder in Millstatt und arbeite seit 2015 auch aktiv in den unterschiedlichsten Rollen in NETZWERK AKS Produktionen mit.
In diesem von Covid19 gezeichneten Jahr fielen leider fast alle geplanten internationalen Aufführungen aus, ich arbeitete aber unter der Regie von Dorit Weintal als Kameramann und Cutter an zwei Filmen im Rahmen des Projekts The Path of Trust, die im September und Oktober in Amsterdam uraufgeführt wurden.
Und für die Aufführung von #shivering konnten wir Anfang Oktober doch zumindest einmal kurz nach Millstatt und Salzburg kommen. Nächstes Jahr hoffentlich wieder mehr!

Originally from Salzburg, I have been livin in Amsterdam for a long time now and I was lucky to meet Andrea and Eleonore in 2012 in Seoul, South Korea, of all places. Since then I have visited Millstatt many times and since 2015 I've also actively participated in many NETZWERK AKS productions in the most diverse roles.
In this year marked by Covid19 unfortunately almost all planned international performances were cancelled, but I had the chance to work as a cinematographer and editor on two films directed by Dorit Weintal as part of her project "The Path of Trust", which premiered in Amsterdam in September and October.
And in the beginning of October we also had the chance to come to Millstatt and Salzburg at least once this year, for the performance of #shivering. Hopefully more again next year!
My heartfelt congratulations to Andrea and the entire team for this well-deserved recognition award!

In December 2020 Andrea K. Schlehwein will receive an award from the Austrian province of Carinthia for her choreographic work with NETZWERK AKS, whose initiator and artistic director she is. She is awarded the Landeskulturpreis (cultural award) in the category 'Recognition Award for Special Achievements in the field of independent cultural work'. We want to take this as an opportunity to give a bit more insight into NETZWERK AKS and to introduce some members of the NETZWERK.
The initial spark for creating the NETZWERK was the creation of a number of dance productions from 2009 onwards. Since that time, Andrea K. Schlehwein, from her base in Millstatt, Austria, has taken her dance productions into the world with lots of passion and seemingly inexhaustible inspiration. The NETZWERK AKS and its dance productions have been and still are regular guests at regional and international festivals and art venues. Through her work as a guest professor at the Korean National University of Arts, AKS Seoul Section has developed in parallel, which also tours pieces by Schlehwein internationally from its home base in Seoul. The lines of connection are almost spanning the whole world, yet the sum of the individual parts is still a unified whole, supported by a spirit of solidarity, cosmopolitanism and collegiality. The international collective is characterised by a colourful complexity of strong artistic quality as well as a high degree of internal compatibility. Year after year, artists come together in ever new constellations, each of them bringing in a wealth of experience, in order to work on AKS as well as collective productions. According to Andrea K. Schlehwein, the NETZWERK AKS "has developed from within itself and keeps on growing dynamically, depending on the needs of my productions and those of its members".

Es war immer eine sehr intensive, künstlerisch hochkarätige Schaffensperiode in der Zusammenarbeit mit Andrea K. Schlehwein und als Mitglied im NETZWERK AKS.

Currently, I am working on creating a new TanzKunstVideo for an exhibition in 2021 – ISOLATION VERSUS COMMUNICATION – from video sequences of a past dance theatre performance, in connection with current new video recordings, emerging from the lack of communication and isolation of the current situation of not being able to be with each other. The dancers and performers are Chandana M. Hörmann and Lydia Klement.
Collaborating with Andrea K. Schlehwein and being a member of NETZWERK AKS has always been a very intense, creative process of high artistic quality.
I had the chance to do this as co-choreographer and training leader for the dance piece "Ariadnes Faden" in 2010, a.o.

Ich arbeite site specific, an einem Geflecht mit dem Material Rafia aus Indonesien, einer glänzend breiten Verpackungsschnur. Eine großflächige, blau gespannte, begehbare Meeresfläche entsteht, in die hinein getaucht werden kann. Perspektivänderungen auf eine bekannte Umgebung entstehen beim ‚Schwimmen‘ im Außenraum. Die Installation = ein offener, veränderbarer Prozess.

I work site specific, creating a sort of web from the Indonesian material rafia, a shiny wide packing cord. The result is a large, blue, stretched, walkable sea surface that can be divded into. A sense of 'swimming' in the outdoor space, shifts in perspective against a familiar surrounding are created. The installation = an open, changeable process.

Mein Name ist Corrado, ich habe Andrea und Eleonore im fernen...Osten kennengelernt! Wir drei nahmen an einer Plattform für zeitgenössischen Tanz teil. Oft saßen wir in diesem beiden Tagen dicht beieinander. Unsere Vision, unsere Geschmäcker waren ähnlich: Kurz gesagt, seit 2005 sind wir auf die eine oder andere Weise in Kontakt.
Einmal ging es von Andrea aus, die mich 2011 einlud, in ihrem Projekt Route #11 zu tanzen. Ich war 45 Jahre jung und es war mir eine große Ehre und ein Privileg, Teil des NETZWERK AKS zu sein. Einer meiner Zehenknochen erinnert sich noch heute daran :-) Es war meine Schuld – ich dachte, ich wäre wieder 30.
Ein anderes Mal kamen die beiden zu meiner Hochzeitsfeier, wo sie zwischen einer Menge von Italienern und Slowaken wahrscheinlich einen eher unverständlichen und langweiligen Abend verbrachten.
Ich bin ihnen also etwas schuldig.
Und ich? Ich habe mein Leben mit Tanzen verbracht, mehr Ballett als zeitgenössisch, und jetzt bilde ich in Triest, meiner Wahlheimat, eine neue Generation von Tänzern heran.

My name is Corrado and I met Andrea and Eleonore in the far...east! The three of us were following a contemporary dance platform for buyers. We have been spending those two days often seated close to each other. Our vision, our tastes were similar: To make a long story short, it is since 2005 that we are in touch in a way or another. One way has come from Andrea, inviting me to dance in her project Route #11 in 2011. I was 45 years young and it has been a complete privilege and honour to be part of NETZWERK AKS. A bone of my toe still remember that experience :-) it was my fault, as I was thinking to be 30 again. On the other way, the two of them were present at my wedding's party, in between a lot of Italians and Slovaks, probably spending their more incomprehensible and boring evening. So I'm always in their debt. What about me? I spent my life dancing, ballet more than contemporary, and now teaching and growing new generation of dancers in Trieste, my city of choice.

Working with Andrea and the AKS team was inspirational to my thinking about how I investigate and process theatrical ideas: in particular, I’ve borrowed her methodology of using images and/or drawing to more fully access and follow the threads of my choreographic thinking.
My most recent work The Body is an Archive, is an immersive installation of short, looped, video pieces, still images, and a live performance, exploring how memory lives in our bodies through the vocabularies of social dance.

Aktuell arbeite ich als Tänzerin mit der Freiburger Choreographin Emi Miyoshi an ihrer interdisziplinären Tanzperformance RELAY-tionship. Darin spielt das miteinander Verbundensein eine zentrale Rolle und, vor dem Hintergrund der pandemiebedingten sozialen und körperlichen Isolation, geht es vor allem auch um die Frage, wie das Gefühl des miteinander Verbundenseins, ohne körperliche Nähe aufgebaut werden kann. Gemeinsam mit meiner Performancepartnerin Winnie Luzie Burz (Gesang) werden neue Formen der körperlich künstlerischen Zusammenarbeit erprobt. Mittels eines E- Stethoskops und Sensoren werden Herzschläge, Körpergeräusche und Bewegungen als Klangperformance in der neuen Immersive-Audio-Technik dem Publikum über Kopfhörer unmittelbar erfahrbar gemacht.

Time is flying, and defining eleven years of working and collaborating with Netzwerk AKS, headed by Andrea Schlehwein. It has been an adventurous, productive and evolving journey. The collaboration and meeting of different artists/dancers/teachers, intensify and make a connection that branches into something new and refresh the process. After many years of working together, it establishes a relationship of co-existence that aims to share a certain goal
At the moment I work as a dancer with the Freiburg based choreographer Emi Miyoshi for her interdisciplinary dance performance RELAY-tionship. In this performance, connectedness with each other plays a central role and, against the backdrop of the pandemic and its social and physical isolation, the question is, how a feeling of being connected to each other can be established without physical closeness. Together with my performing partner Winnie Luzie Burz (vocals), we are testing new forms of physical-artistic collaboration. By means of an e-stethoscope and sensors heartbeats, body sounds and movements are made directly perceptible to the audience via headphones as a sound performance with this new immersive audio technology.

Georgia is a freelance dance practitioner based in Copenhagen, Denmark, who is active in projects focusing on performance, facilitation and research. A vibrant subject in her work at the moment is the political notion of decolonization in relation to her artistic practice. Georgia collaborates with The Royal Danish Theatre, Åben Dans Theatre, MYKA company, a.o. in Denmark and enjoyed a collaboration with Netzwerk AKS during the years 2015 - 2016. Under the choreographic supervision of Andrea K. Schlehwein, she performed in 'Things we lost in the fire' and 'Here and Now'.

I have known Andrea for more than 4 decades and we have worked together from time to time for more than 3 decades. I greatly appreciate the collaborations, the creative process, also with the dancers and other participants involved, because it is really defined by a deep search for images that touch the soul. The mutual inspiration and appreciation always makes the collaboration process exciting and full of surprises.
My work this year includes the Butoh production "Zero" with Minako Seki, the film "Aeon Oz" by Heinz Kasper and some of my own light objects and installations.

I just finished a year long process as a dancer and advisor for the multidisciplinary project Trust directed by Dorit Weintal.
The performance event Celebration of Uncertainty together with electric guitarist Arvind Ganga, performer/visual artist Branka Zgonjanin and sound artist Gert-Jan Prins is coming soon.
I was happy to dance in #shivering directed by AKS this October in Salzburg and I hope that our next performance in Ljubljana in January will be possible too.

Under the ongoing pandemic situation, we find ourselves still moving and working among continents under the motto “Compost” as an umbrella concept that radiates in different directions and formats for researching and enquiring on the deep relation among bodies and surroundings, expressing so our vital concern of what is next for us as habitat. Since we met with Andrea and Eleonore first time in Barcelona, we feel the NETZWERK as a platform that has nurtured former processes, some of our own and also under AKS direction, in a context of interchange, mutual care and friendship. Warm memories of crazy adventures and creative times are evoking long standing smiles and we are always happy to return there, meet and like this continue evolving.

Meine Erfahrung mit Andrea ist sehr intensiv, mit ganz vielen tollen Momenten, die zurückgehen bis 2009. Die Arbeit ist immer sehr tiefgründig gewesen, oft auch sehr emotional und fordernd. Freue mich, dass Andrea und das Netzwerk den Anerkennungspreis bekommen: das hat sie verdient.

I teach Yoga, dance for adults and children as well as ballet for aspiring musical performers. At the moment I'm also still following a Svastha yoga therapy education.
I am currently working with Theaterlabor Inc. Darmstadt, Inclusive + Professional Theatre Art as a dancer and choreographer for the piece "Ich Ich Ich" with its premiere scheduled for 9th Jan 2020. The photo is from the last production "Zeit – Eine kurze Reise auf dem Fluss der Zeit".
My experience with Andrea has been very intense, with many great moments going back until 2009. The work has always been very profound, often very emotional and also challenging. I am happy that Andrea and the Netzwerk have received the recognition award: she deserves it.
