millstatt hat sich dies von Anbeginn an zur Aufgabe gestellt.
Wann immer die Räume des ART SPACE stift millstatt nicht vom NETZWERK AKS, dem FORUM KUNST contemporary oder den anderen Kulturinitiativen genutzt werden, stehen sie im Rahmen des Artists-in-Residency-Programms A . I . R . Künstler*innen und Kollektiven aus den Bereichen zeitgenössischer Tanz und anderen Künsten offen. Dieses von Andrea K. Schlehwein kuratierte Programm bietet Künstler*innen die Möglichkeit, im konzentrierten Setting des ART SPACE stift millstatt an ihren Projekten zu arbeiten und dabei die dramaturgische und textuelle Prozessbegleitung zu erhalten, die sie in der jeweiligen kreativen Schaffensphase brauchen. |
ART needs spaces for creating, trying,
forming, discarding and shaping in a calm and focused atmosphere, but
also the opportunity to be presented in a professional setting. The
ART SPACE stift millstatt has been dedicated to this idea from its
very beginning.
Whenever the spaces of ART SPACE stift millstatt are not being used by NETZWERK AKS, FORUM KUNST contemporary or the other cultural initiatives, they are made available to artists and art collectives from the area of contemporary dance and other artistic disciplines in the framework of the artists-in-residency programme A . I . R . This programme curated by Andrea K. Schlehwein offers artists the opportunity to work on their projects in the concentrated setting of ART SPACE stift millstatt and, if desired, to receive the dramaturgical and textual guidance they need in each creative phase. |

Suhwa Kim forscht an der Schnittstelle von digitaler und realer Welt,
von gedanklicher Bewegtheit und Tanz, digitaler wie physisch realen
Bildern, Projektionen und Körpern im Raum. Sie setzt sich mit
verschiedenen Softwares auseinander, deren größter gemeinsamer Nenner
darin besteht, dass sie einen Time Gap, eine Zeitverzögerung produzieren
und positioniert die Frage nach der Relevanz omnipräsenter digitaler
Medien.

In the series i n : f o r m a l | contemporary art + experiment Andrea K. Schlehwein will be hosting the next studio showing on 4 May at 8 pm at ART SPACE stift millstatt. This time with the resident artist DANCE + Video, Suhwa Kim from South Korea.
Suhwa Kim's research investigates the intersection between the digital and the real world, between mental movement and dance, between digital and physically real images, projections and bodies in space. She deals with various software applications whose common denominator is that they produce a time gap, a delay, and she addresses questions about the relevance of the omnipresent digital media..JPG)

SPACE stift millstatt, um im Zuge ihrer A.I.R. residency@ART
SPACE stift millstatt an ihrem neuen Solo zu arbeiten.
DIE KÜNSTLERIN …
Ihr tänzerischer Werdegang beginnt sehr früh; mit drei Jahren
steht die mittlerweile 26-Jährige zum ersten Mal in einem
Tanzstudio. Die bald eingeschlagene Richtung - Elementaren
Tanz - bleibt richtungsweisend für ihren weiteren
Ausbildungsweg. Neben dem Tanzstudium am codarts Rotterdam
wird Alina Jacobs von Graziela Padilla höchstpersönlich
vertiefend unterrichtet und ausgebildet. Seit 2018 geht
Jacobs, neben der Arbeit an ihren Eigenproduktionen, mit viel
Leidenschaft unterschiedlichsten tanzpädagogischen Tätigkeiten
nach. Unter anderem wirkt sie immer wieder bei Symposien, die
sich dem Elementaren Tanz widmen, mit; im Jahr 2019 zum
Beispiel fand im ART SPACE stift millstatt das Symposion
Positionen 019 (initiiert, kuratiert und realisiert von AKS)
statt, das das Lex-Padilla Dance Concept zum Inhalt hatte.
Neben der Mitbegründerin Graziela Padilla haben viele
„Ehemalige“ mitgewirkt und die Teilnehmer*innen
unterrichtet.
Nun, im Sommer 2020 ist Alina Jacobs wieder in Millstatt; diesmal als Residenzkünstlerin, eingeladen von Andrea K. Schlehwein.
DAS SHOWING …
Alina Jacobs beschäftigt sich in ihrer aktuellen Arbeit mit der Verfänglichkeit von rotierenden Gedankengängen.
In ihrem Tanzsolo, das sie selbst choreografiert, tritt sie in einen physischen Dialog mit der nicht endend wollenden Gedankenflut der „spinning thoughts“. Ein von außen scheinbar regloser Körper – der im Inneren um einen Moment des Stillstandes kämpft – versucht mit wachsender Verzweiflung die zentripetale Kraft zu durchbrechen, die ihn in eine nicht kartierbare Tiefe zu ziehen droht. Trotz der gefährlichen Hartnäckigkeit des Drehmoments, gibt es eine gewisse Neugierde für die umgarnende Rotationsachse. Körper und Geist, die zunächst als vermeintliche Gegenspieler auftreten, erweisen sich als Komplizen im kreisenden Endlosstrom.
Das sich (ent-)ziehen-Wollen nach außen verstärkt lediglich die Kraft nach innen, oder ist es ein Unten, ein Drüben, ein Irgendwo, ein Nirgendwo ? Woran kann man sich festhalten, wenn die Gedanken entgleisen?

Am 22. Juli zeigt die Tänzerin und Choreografin Alina Jacobs
ihr work in progress vor Publikum im ART SPACE, wo seit 2013
die artists in residency-Serie i n : f o r m a l (kuratiert
von AKS) Künstler*innen Raum und Zeit bietet, an ihren
Projekten zu arbeiten. Die Künstler*innen haben die Freiheit
bei ihrem showing kein fertiges Stück zeigen zu müssen. Es
geht in erster Linie darum, dem Publikum einen authentischen
Blick in ihre Werkstatt zu ermöglichen. „Unterstützen ohne
sich einzumischen“ ist das Leitmotiv von Andrea K. Schlehwein,
die das Format für junge zeitgenössische Kunst ins Leben
gerufen hat.
Raum, Zeit und besonders die Unterstützung von Andrea K. Schlehwein ist auch das, was Alina Jacobs schätzt. Gepaart mit dem „perfekten Setting“ der depandance in der Millstättischen Idylle ist es für sie „eine Chance, um sich in eine vertiefende Auseinandersetzung mit sich selbst – als Person und als Künstlerin – zu begeben und um die eigene künstlerische Handschrift durch einen Perspektivenwechsel zu erweitern“.

The dancer and choreographer Alina Jacobs is currently present
at ART SPACE stift millstatt to work on her new solo during her

THE ARTIST…
Alina's dance career starts very early; at the age of three,
the now 26-year-old has her first encounter with dance within a
studio setting. The direction she soon takes – Elementarer Tanz
– will be defining for all her further training. Aside from her
dance studies at codarts Rotterdam, Alina Jacobs receives
further training and education from Graziela Padilla herself.
Since 2018, besides creating her own productions, Jacobs has
been passionately engaged in a wide variety of dance education
activities. Amongst other things, she repeatedly participates in
symposia dedicated to Elementarer Tanz, for example in 2019,
when the symposion Positionen 019 (initiated, curated and
realised by AKS) was held at ART SPACE stift millstatt,
focussing on the Lex-Padilla Dance Concept. Apart from
co-founder Graziela Padilla, many "alumni" took part as well and
taught the participants.
Now, in summer 2020, Alina is back in Millstatt, this time as artist in residence, invited by Andrea K. Schlehwein.

In her current work, Alina Jacobs deals with the captivating force of rotating thought processes.
In her dance solo, which she herself choreographs, Alina enters into a physical dialogue with a never-ending flood of "spinning thoughts". A body that appears motionless from the outside – internally struggling for a moment stillness – with increasing desperation tries to break out of the centripetal force that threatens to pull it down into unchartable depths. Despite the perilous persistence of the spinning force, there is a certain curiosity about this ensnaring axis of rotation. Body and mind, which initially appear as opponents, prove to be accomplices in the endlessly circling stream.
The desire to (with)draw outwards only increases the force towards the inside, or maybe a bottom, a top, a somewhere, a nowhere? What can we hold on to when our thoughts keep running off the rails?

In combination with the „perfect setting“ of the depandance in the idyllic town of Millstatt, it is for her „an opportunity to enter into a deeper investigation of oneself – as a person and as an artist – and to expand one's own artistic signature through a change of perspective“.

Cyborgkätzchen im ART SPACE stift millstatt
The Feline Project transferiert das Phänomen „Katzenvideos“ auf
die Bühne.

Man kennt das doch: Wenn die Protagonistinnen Katzen sind, klickt man sich auf Internetplattformen wie im Rausch von einem Homevideo zum nächsten. Da spielt es überhaupt keine Rolle, ob man Liebhaber*in ist oder nicht. Berauscht und süchtig nach mehr beobachtet man auch das Geschehen auf der Bühne, wenn Dagmar Dachauer und Kilian Immervoll - sich zuvor entmenschlichend - als feline Unterart, in neugierig-ängstlicher Katzenmanier, die Tanzfläche erobern.
Ein Bildschirm erleuchtet, daneben liegt unbelebt etwas
Kreatürliches (Dagmar Dachauer). Am Screen erscheint ein Fell in
Nahaufnahme. Es atmet, also lebt es… oder etwa doch nicht?
Elektronische Beats, die zum mechanischen Herzschlag mutieren,
und das zeitweilige Stocken der Atembewegungen entlarven den
kuscheligen Roboter. Dann plötzlich erwacht auch der
danebenliegende Körper und bemüht sich schmerzerfüllt um eine
Existenzwerdung. Knochen, Muskeln, Haut und Haare… Ja! Dennoch
bleibt der Zweifel, ob es sich um etwas Organisches handelt. Die
Glieder zucken und krampfen sich empor, bis schließlich sogar
der Kopf eine beinahe natürliche Position eingenommen hat… Ein
Mensch wird das nicht mehr, aber eine Katze könnte sich
ausgehen. Blick, Mimik, Haltung und Bewegung werden noch
konfiguriert und streichelfertig ist die
Haustier-Illusion.
Dagmar Dachauer und Kilian Immervoll gehen in ihrer Arbeit der
Frage nach, was das menschliche Gemüt so lustvoll regt im Umgang
mit Katzen. Die Diskrepanz zwischen tierischer Existenz und
menschlicher Projektion wird kompromisslos verhandelt und so
gibt es in der tänzerischen Kontemplation immer wieder brüchige
Stellen und Risse, durch welche Befremdung hindurch sickert. Es
geht aber auch um speziesüberschreitende Empathie: »What is it
like to be a cat?« ist die Ausgangsfrage mit der sich Dagmar
Dachauer einer scheinbar vertrauten Alterität zu nähern
versucht.
Artifizielle Nachahmungen tierischer Niedlichkeit lösen - und sind sie noch so realistisch ausgestaltet - ein unüberwindbares Unbehagen aus. Dieses Unbehagen ist während der Performance stimmungsprägend und es ist danach das, was als Ernst im Spiel, als dystopischer Zukunftsausblick, am meisten nachhallt.
Am 12. April zeigten die Tänzerin/ Choreographin und der
Videokünstler ihr work in progress vor Publikum im ART SPACE, wo seit 2013 die artists in
residency-Serie in:formal (kuratiert von A.K.S.)
Künstler*innen Raum und Zeit bietet, an ihren Projekten zu
arbeiten.
„Unterstützen ohne sich einzumischen“ ist das Leitmotiv von Andrea K. Schlehwein, die gemeinsam mit Eleonore Schäfer in:formal ins Leben gerufen hat. Hier wird das Credo der künstlerischen Freiheit durch die flexiblen Rahmenbedingungen und die Prozessorientierung gelebt: „Ob die Künstler*innen nach der zweiwöchigen residency etwas performen oder zum Beispiel ein Konzept vorlesen bleibt ihnen selbst überlassen. Um den fragilen Zustand eines in Entstehung begriffenen Projekts zu überwinden, sind der Austausch und das Fragenstellen essentiell.“
Essend kommt der Mensch ins Gespräch und so gab es auch diesmal wieder Suppe und Wein, um die Kehlen zu schmieren und ein gemeinsames Reflektieren anzuregen.

Um den fragilen Zustand eines in Entstehung begriffenen Projekts zu überwinden, sind der Austausch und das Fragenstellen essentiell.“
Essend kommt der Mensch ins Gespräch und so gab es auch diesmal wieder Suppe und Wein, um die Kehlen zu schmieren und ein gemeinsames Reflektieren anzuregen.

Breath Portraits residency | Chris Leuenberger + Maria Mavridou
We happily finished a very inspiring and productive 7 day residency at ART
SPACE stift millstatt, focused on Chris Leuenberger's research project
Breath Portraits.
The week consisted of
- research sessions / practice focused on breath in the studio
- filming for a Breath Portrait video at outdoor locations in
Millstatt
- researching and developing a version for a live solo performance
based on Chris' method of working.
Next to that, we also had the pleasure to follow Brigitte Büsken's
workshop focused on breathing, which gave us the chance to reflect on
our work from another point of view.
On the 16th of September, in the frame of in: formal, we
had a public sharing of the outcomes of our research week
- a live solo performed by Maria Mavridou
- a rough edit of our latest video footage from Millstat
- as well as the 5 already edited breath portrait videos featuring Lea
Martini, Anna Röthlisberger, Matthew Rogers, Saadet Türköz and Cosima
Grand, which were created earlier this summer, between June-July
2018.
Our original plan to develop a video installation of the 6 Breath
Portraits was not realized, due to some technical difficulties as well
as further reflection on what would be the best way to share these
videos with the public in the frame of in:formal.
Instead of an installation, we did a simple presentation with a beamer,
combined with sharing information with regards to the working method and
the various experiences of Chris collaborating with different artists,
which we felt were worth sharing.
Thank you very much to everyone who attended and gave us
feedback!
The near future plan of this project is to present a video installation
of the 7 Breath Portraits (including Chris Leuenberger's Breath Portrait
(at the moment under construction).
For the long term future the desire is to develop a stage version of a
breath piece with several performers.
We would like to thank Andrea K. Schlehwein and büro für tanz | theater
| produktionen for offering the space and support!
Brigitte, Ewald and Angelika for giving us valuable help during the
presentation night. Roman for his important long distance help on
technical matters.

Das Projekt ATEM PORTRAITS ist als Reihe von einwöchigen Residenzen
angelegt, in denen Ideen für neue Stücke und Zusammenarbeiten
losgelöst von einem Premierendatum und ohne Produktionsdruck entstehen
konnten. Während insgesamt sieben Residenzwochen an verschiedenen
Orten wurde Leuenbergers choreografische Atem-Praxis im Dialog mit
drei bisherigen und vier neuen künstlerischen Partner*innen konkret
überprüft, vertieft und mit neuen Impulsen genährt. Alle beteiligten
Künstler*innen brachten dafür ein Lied mit einer für sie persönlichen
und emotionalen Bedeutung mit. Jedes Portrait basiert auf dem Rhythmus
des mitgebrachten Songs, welcher für die Arbeit in einen Atem-Score
übersetzt wurde. Entstanden sind sieben kurze Soli, die als
Video-Portrait in unterschiedlichen Settings aufgenommen wurden.
Im Rahmen von in : formal werden die ersten sechs Portraits erstmals
als „Video-Installation“ öffentlich gezeigt. Parallel dazu wird das
Ergebnis der Residenzwoche in Millstatt - ein Portrait der Tänzerin
und Choreografin Maria Mavridou - als Live Performance zu sehen sein.
ATEM PORTRAITS bildet den Abschluss der diesjährigen Künstler
Residenzen im ART SPACE stift millstatt.

Tanzsolo von Marit Shirin Fogelgren, basierend auf Zen-Meditation und
der japanischen Kampfkunst Aikido.
Die schwedische Tänzerin und Filmemacherin Marit Fogelgren ist im Mai
2018 Artist in Residence im ART SPACE stift millstatt (Österreich) und
nutzt ihren Aufenthalt für die Arbeit an ihrem fortlaufenden
Forschungsprojekt 'The Female Samurai'.
Am 30. Mai haben Sie die Möglichkeit, einen Blick in die Werkstatt zu
werfen.
Die Serie in : formal für junge, zeitgenössische Kunst, ist ein
ungezwungenes Format, dass im teitgenössischen Tanz verortet ist, sich
aber, je nach Bedürfnis der jeweiligen Artist in Residency
Künstler*in, weit vom Tanz entfernen darf.
Keine ehrliche Auseinandersetzung ob in der zeitgenössischen Kunst
oder im Leben ist vor Beginn der Reise planbar und vorhersehbar.
Wir vertreten die Philosophie, dass gerade die junge Kunst
Unterstützung und Dialog mehr benötigt als Erwartungs- und
Präsentationsdruck.
Jede Künstlerin gestaltet ihren Abend selbst und entscheidet, wie der
Blick in die Werkstatt ausschauen soll, ob als klassische
Studiopräsentation oder als Gespräch, als gemeinsames Abendessen,
outdoor event oder als Diskussionsrunde mit Film – alles Formate sind
denkbar und werden erst im Verlauf der Residency entschieden.

It’s our 9th day of work here at the A . I . R . residency
@ ART SPACE stift millstatt. We are collecting material
and preparing the new NETZWERK AKS production Dark Fog
Rebel in communication with artistic director Andrea K.
Schlehwein who is currently teaching at Korean National
University of the Arts in Seoul.
Dancer Yurie Umamoto is going to join us this Thursday
from Amsterdam to complete the team and enter the final
phase of this project.
Dark Fog Rebel is a dance solo about freedom and the
desire to break out of one's own system.

Yesterday we finished more than two weeks of research and sharing of a new process in Millstatt. Golden Shadows. This is the tittle under we decided to face a new set of questions and necesities to keep widening our interest in the body, the movement and space.
In an early text we stated that Golden Shadows would be a frame where to "follow mainly impulses for widening resources in our research on the body as a (sub)conscious moving entity, diving in new information and explorations, in order of setting new aspects for constantly rediscovering and experiencing it anew. After long time concerned with an interest in its dynamics, we would like to initiate a trip that brings our attention away from our actual conceptions. Create new relations between opaqueness and transparencies, locations and transcendences among the interplay of attention, consciousness, reflection and action."
We took so time for new readings, keep exploring the phisical space from the level of the bones and opening up towards other perceptions of the body materiality. Laying down, taking almost an infinite sense of time, looking for resonances in other materials. Experimenting with other ways to approach, to move, observing, writing, drawing... going out of the dependance towards the openness, the lake, the forests, the roads among villages, sensing the fleet of interchange between light and shadows inside us and in the surrounding.
The first week we had as well the opportunity to guide O.P.E.N. morning classes, our BONE mornings a context where to share with others some aspects of these interests.
It seems far now the presentation of our project WITHOUT ADDED VALUE in the context of the LIGHT ON - LIGHT OFF Nº9 during our first days there. We had a wonderful performance accompanied by a full house of people.
Today we continue with a feeling of motivation, carrying a new set of questions and elements to move forward.
Thanks once more to Andrea and Eleonore and all the NETZWERK for they support and confidence.

In der experimentellen Begegnung von Tanz und Multimedia Kunst taucht
im Verlauf der Performance eine vielschichtig sich stetig wandelnde
Umgebung auf, die sich als Realität behaupten möchte, in der Themen wie
Täuschung und als selbstverständlich angenommene Voraussetzung umkreist
werden. Körper, Raum und Bilder changieren im Dialog, wirbeln auf,
setzen das Reale und das Virtuelle in Kontrast zueinander und zeigen im
Vorgang der Transformation die gegenseitige Verflechtung auf.

We had the pleasure to share our working space and function as hosts
for the artists: Brigitte Busken, Maayan Reiter, Maria Mavridou &
Roman Zotter, eva & eva (Leonie Humitsch & Stefanie Sternig),
Daniel Petkovic & Urban Belina.
Brigitte Büsken has presented the outcome of her residency ‘Vibration
von Klang und Bewegung im Raum’. Leonie Humitsch, did a workshop
presentation after the ‘sommertanzwoche’ for children. Both took place
at studio dependance.
As part of the series ‘in : formal’ (International Series for Young
Contemporary Art) that take place at ART SPACE stift millstatt we have
hosted the works Let me sleep! by Maayan Reiter (Austria-Israel) and
‘Terra Umbilicus’ by Daniel Petkovic & Urban Belina (Slovenia)
ART SPACE stift millstatt will be able to host more artists in the next

It supports fresh and fragile work and allows artists who are still

studio showings wurde 2013 von Andrea K. Schlehwein ins Leben gerufen

This year, the excellent working conditions of ART SPACE stift
millstatt are being utilized by several dance and performance
artists for research and rehearsal purposes. The season started off
with longstanding Netzwerk AKS member Brigitte Büsken and continued
with SEAD graduate Maayan Reiter who used the facilities to work on
her new piece „Let me Sleep”.
In April and May, NETZWERK AKS artists Maria Mavridou and Roman
Zotter are continuing the work on their new production
„redfishleg“ which will be performed on the 14th of May at ART SPACE stift millstatt.

a büro-facilitated residency in kunst im stift. Below are her thoughts on the peaceful work environment
of kunst im stift, and the inspiring nature in and
surrounding Millstatt.

Cologne, November 2014
I am grateful when I look back on those wonderful days. Every day the lake
before my eyes, submerged in clouds, cut across by the sun, a surfer, a
boat, a pleasure craft. Every day to write without worry that I should be
thinking about something else.
When the author looks up, she gazes upon the dark, secretive lake, whose
watery surface appears black in the distance. Black and still. The brave of
heart can still take the plunge in October, swim a few quick laps and
experience how the water invigorates his cells; that water, which is clear,
cold and clear. Just like the mountain air that surrounds the lake and the
great mountains, which look different every day – sometimes powdered with
snow, later gray tones with autumnal trees shimmering yellow-green.
Sun, wind, enchanting fresh air.
Magnitude and expanse. Nature. Which receives me, the author, step for step
during my required break as I wander and survey those mountain peaks that
Goethe admitted into his Faust, nibbling the blueberries
and currants along the path’s edge – a taste of my childhood: those days in
the hills with my mother, father and brother. Blueberry cake topped
with 
whipped cream in the evenings. Back then. So long unremembered. Now a part
of me again, so close. Then I continue roaming along the narrow footpath up
to the summit, where I look down – to the lake, of course. The lake, which
from this altitude of 2000 meters seems much smaller; seems to have less
meaning from up here, where one is greeted by the other mountain summits.
According to legend, statues of 1000 idols (mille statue) were once sunk as
a demonstration of the Carinthian Duke Domitian’s commitment to the
Christian faith, from which the name of this place, “Millstatt”, likely
originates. Today a different statue remembers this event. Gallant and
slender it stands, a symbol, inconspicuous on the edge of the lake, like a
dancer on the water. I find it asserting itself uprightly against the
afternoon sun, which it pulls into a game of light and shadow, casting
itself in another role, now, and so emerging, floating and timeless, showing
itself in a new scene that forgets the past for a moment.

When one has not been here, one does not know what he is missing and what
this place, surrounded by noble mountains, cows, deer, cats, has to offer.
The grand nature radiated peace toward me, as if to dissolve all my cares
every day, and so it was – even now back in Cologne, I still carry this
clarity in the suitcase of my soul, an old familiar place, which I hold
inside of me and which was so clear there in the mountains on the
lake.

Das waren wunderbare Tage, auf die ich dankbar zurückblicke. Jeden Tag den
See vor Augen, in Wolken getaucht, von Sonne durchflutet, ein Surfer, ein
Boot, ein Ausflugsdampfer. Jeden Tag schreiben, ohne Sorgen, ohne an anderes
denken zu müssen. Wenn die Schreibende aufblickte, schaute sie in diesen
dunklen, geheimnisvollen See, dessen Wasseroberfläche aus der Ferne schwarz
erscheint. Schwarz und still. Ein gefestigtes Herz -kann im Oktober den
Körper dort eintauchen, einige schnelle Schwimmzüge nehmen und erleben, wie
das Wasser die Zellen belebt, das Wasser, das klar ist, kalt und klar. So
wie die Bergluft, die den See umgibt, die herrlichen Berge, die jeden Tag
ein anderes Aussehen zeigen, mal Schnee bestäubt, dann wieder in Grautönen,
mit herbstlichen Bäumen grünlich-gelb schimmernd.
Sonne, Wind, betörend frische Luft.
Größe und Weite. Natur. Die mich als Schreibende jeden Tag aufnimmt, in der
ich bei Bedarf Pause mache, wandernd mich Schritt für Schritt hineinbegebe,
die Nockenberge überschaue, die in Goethes Faust Einlass fanden, am
Wegesrand Heidelbeeren und Preiselbeeren nasche, meine Kindheit bei diesem
Anlass zum Vorschein kommt, all die Tage in den Hängen, mit Mutter und
Vater, dem Bruder. Am Abend Heidelbeerkuchen mitSchlagsahne. Damals. So lange nicht erinnert. Jetzt wieder Teil von mir,
ganz nah. Dann stromere ich weiter den schmalen Fußweg zum Gipfel empor und
schaue hinunter – natürlich bis zum See. Der See, der aus 2000 Metern Höhe
viel kleiner erscheint, weniger Bedeutung hat, hier oben, wo andere
Berggipfel dich grüßen. In dem einer Legende zufolge einst 1000
Götzenstatuen versenkt worden sind (mille statue), als Bekenntnis des
Karantanenherzogs Domitian zum christlichen Glauben, daher womöglich der
Name dieses Ortes „Millstatt“. Eine Statue, die an dieses Ereignis erinnert.
Galant, schlank steht sie symbolisch, unauffällig am Rande des Sees, gleich
einer Tänzerin auf dem Wasser, entdecke ich sie, behauptet sie sich aufrecht
gegen die Nachmittagssonne, die sie mitnimmt in ein Spiel aus Licht und
Schatten, ihr eine andere Rolle zuweist, jetzt, und so taucht sie auf,
schwebend und zeitlos, zeigt sich in einer neuen Szene, die die
Vergangenheit vergisst für einen Augenblick.

Wenn man nicht hier gewesen ist, weiß man nicht, was einem entgeht und was
dieser Ort, umgeben von stattlichen Bergen, Kühen, Rindern, Katzen, alles zu
bieten hat. Die gewaltige Natur strahlte Frieden auf mich ab, als würden
sich all meine Sorgen täglich darin auflösen, und so war es – auch jetzt
wieder in Köln zurück, habe ich diese Klarheit im Handgebäck meiner Seele,
ein alter bekannter Ort, den ich in mir trage und der dort in den Bergen am
See so deutlich war.

Ich hoffe, dass noch viele Schriftsteller/innen und Künstler hier eine
kreative Zeit verbringen werden. Von Herzen wünsche ich der „Kunst im Stift“
viel Erfolg für die Zukunft.
