In this exhibition, due to the diversity of their artistic approaches and genres, they are put into a conflictual relationship with each other, raising questions, and entering a palpable web of tensions between different depictions of reality and visions of the future. ILLUSION – DELUSION so lautet der Titel der aktuellen Gruppenausstellung von [FKc] FORUM KUNST contemporary, kuratiert von Andrea K. Schlehwein. Unterschiedliche zeitgenössische Positionen zwischen Malerei, Objektkunst, Skulptur, Text und Bild, Fotografie und Algorithmus werden in den großzügigen, historischen Räumen des ART SPACE stift millstatt vom ➔ 8. März bis 15. April jeweils mittwochs bis samstags von 15 bis 18 Uhr gezeigt. Die Arbeiten von Christian Bazant-Hegemark, Vadim Fishkin, Annamaria Kowalsky, Tim van den Oudenhoven, Georg Planer und Josef Winkler sind teils preisgekrönt und in internationalen Kunstvenues zu sehen. In dieser Ausstellung treten sie ob der Unterschiedlichkeit ihrer Arbeitsansätze und Genres in konfliktgeladene Beziehung zueinander, werfen Fragen auf und begeben sich in ein spürbares Spannungsgefüge unterschiedlicher Realitätsabbildung und Zukunftsentwürfen. Erweitert wird der künstlerische Rahmen um eine weitere Komponente sozialkritischer Kontextualisierung. Journalistinnen und Journalisten benennen mit dokumentarischen Statements politisch brennende Themen unserer Zeit. ILLUSION – DELUSION is the title of the upcoming group exhibition of [FKc] FORUM KUNST contemporary, curated by Andrea K. Schlehwein. A variety of contemporary positions between painting, object art, sculpture, text and image, photography and algorithms will be shown in the spacious historic premises of ART SPACE stift millstatt from ➔ 8th of March to 15th of April, Wednesdays to Saturdays from 3 to 6 pm. The works of Christian Bazant-Hegemark, Vadim Fishkin, Annamaria Kowalsky, Tim van den Oudenhoven, Georg Planer and Josef Winkler have partly won awards and been presented in international art venues. In this exhibition, due to the diversity of their artistic approaches and genres, they are put into a conflictual relationship with each other, raising questions, and entering a palpable web of tensions between different depictions of reality and visions of the future. The artistic framework will be expanded by an additional element of socio-critical contextualization. Journalists address politically burning topics of our time in documentary statements. For the ➔ VERNISSAGE on March 5 from 11 am, the artists will be present. Together with gallery owner Eleonore Schäfer and her team, they cordially invite you to visit the exhibition. The opening will be accompanied by a ➔ dance performance by NETZWERK AKS with dance artist Maria Mavridou.

too many heroes ein Film von Andrea K. Schlehwein Der von Andrea K. Schlehwein 2021 ausschließlich mit Mitteln des BMKOES gedrehte Film (Schnitt Lukas Pirkebner und Andrea K. Schlehwein) ist unter den Finalisten (Kategorie: Video Art) des Arte Laguna Prize 2023 vom 12 März bis 16. April 2023 im ikonischen Gebäude Arsenale Nord in Venedig zu sehen. Schlehwein inszenierte mit ihrem NETZWERK AKS einen Tanz auf Asphalt, der aus Drohnenperspektive ein Durcheinander ähnlicher Situationen zeigt: attackieren und attackiert werden. Bilder von Bedrohung und Flucht, des zu-Boden-gerissen-Werdens wechseln ab mit innigen Momenten des Miteinanders: Schutz suchen, Umarmung, Erstarrung, des sich Kümmerns um andere. Eine Narration im klassischen Sinn gibt es nicht und doch zeigen die im unteren Viertel als Band in Wiederholung laufende Reels (30 Sekünder) die Innenperspektive der jeweiligen Protagonistin auf ein und dasselbe Geschehen. Abgebildet wird als Ganzes eine komplexe Wirklichkeit, in der alle Perspektiven ebenso berechtigt wie zu hinterfragen sind: sowohl die Drohnenaufsicht als auch die zehn subjektiven Blickwinkel, die den Menschen als Individuum im Gruppengeschehen zeigen. Gedreht wurde auf einem asphaltierten Parkplatz in Spittal Kärnten mit 11 Kameras, 11 Handys, 6 Tänzerinnen, 4 Performern, 5 Kameramännern und Kamerafrauen von Five Elements Films GmbH. Ausgelöst durch Bilder des brutalen Umsturzes der Demokratie in Myanmar hinterfragt Schlehwein die Macht der Bilder zwischen Fake und Fiction. Nach Festivals in Deutschland und Bulgarien (2022) ist too many heroes 2023 nach der Präsentation in Venedig beim Klagenfurt Festival am 27. Mai im Burghof Klagenfurt zu sehen.

too many heroes a film by Andrea K. Schlehwein Schlehwein's film from 2021 (edited by Lukas Pirkebner and Andrea K. Schlehwein), funded exclusively by the Austrian Ministry of Culture (BMKOES), will be shown among the finalists (category: video art) of the Arte Laguna Prize 2023 from March 12th to April 16th 2023 in the iconic Arsenale Nord building in Venice. Schlehwein staged a dance on asphalt with members of her NETZWERK AKS, viewed from a drone perspective and showing a jumble of similar situations: attacking and being attacked. Images of threat and flight, of being swept to the ground, alternate with intimate moments of togetherness: seeking shelter, embracing, freezing, caring for each other. There is no narration in the classical sense, and yet the reels running in 30 second loops in the lower quarter of the image show each protagonist's inner perspective on the same event. The whole depicts a complex reality in which all perspectives are equally justifiable as they are to be questioned: both the drone perspective and the ten subjective viewpoints showing the human being as an individual within a group setting. The film was shot on an asphalt parking lot in Spittal an der Drau, Austria, with 11 cameras, 11 mobile phones, 6 dancers, 4 performers, and 5 cameramen and women from Five Elements Films GmbH. Triggered by images of the brutal overthrow of democracy in Myanmar, Schlehwein questions the power of images between fake and fiction. In 2023, after festivals in Germany and Bulgaria (2022), and following its presentation in Venice, too many heroes will also be shown at the Klagenfurt Festival on May 27th at the Burghof Klagenfurt, Austria.

Rückblick 2022 | Looking back at 2022

Ein spannendes und intensives Jahr liegt hinter uns, mit zahlreichen Neufassungen und Neuproduktionen von Andrea K. Schlehwein + NETZWERK AKS, die 2022 nicht nur in der home base ART SPACE stift millstatt, sondern auch international auf verschiedenen Festivals präsentiert wurden. Die Stücke #robotic und #bones [aus der ACCUMULATION Serie] wurden in Neufassungen in Millstatt und Ljubljana aufgeführt, #shivering wurde in neuer Besetzung zum SoloDuo Festival Köln eingeladen, light things and dark things wurde für das Festival UKREP Ljubljana neu inszeniert. Der TANZfilm too many heroes wurde u.a. auf Festivals in Deutschland und Bulgarien präsentiert. Als Neuproduktionen wurden die Stücke lost landscapes und「inter relations」(betstehend aus archipelago 1-7) im ART SPACE stift millstatt uraufgeführt und in Rahmen des Projekts MONOLITH (initiiert von den Bildhauern Georg Planer und Peter Paszkiewicz) wurde im Steinbruch Modre im Kärntner Maltatal das site-spezifische Stück #stone erarbeitet und uraufgeführt – nebst einer zweiten Fassung im Pankratium - Haus des Staunens Gmünd. Das Symposion POSITIONEN 022 | HYBRID FORMATS brachte im April über 30 Künstler:innen aus 15 verschiedenen Ländern und zahlreichen Disziplinen für einen lebendigen Austausch im ART SPACE stift millstatt zusammen, mit Vertreter:innen aus dem zeitgenössischen Tanz, der bildenden Kunst, Lehre und Forschung, Architektur, Denkmalpflege, Design, Fotografie, Video-, Soundkunst uvm. Im Rahmen der A . I . R . residency war Suhwa Kim aus Südkorea im ART SPACE stift millstatt zu Gast, um sich mit den Themen Virtual Reality, Komposition und Chaos auseinanderzusetzen und in einer in : formal Präsentation ihre Arbeit dem Publikum näher zu bringen. Außerdem hatte sie im Rahmen der Residenz die Gelegenheit, ihr Stück Pixelance in Ljubljana aufzuführen. Nachfolgend ein Überblick über die Produktionen und Initiativen, die in diesem Jahr von Andrea K. Schlehwein + NETZWERK AKS, dem büro für tanz | theater | produktionen und seinen Kooperationspartnern realisiert wurden. We're looking back at an exciting and intensive year with numerous revised and new productions by Andrea K. Schlehwein + NETZWERK AKS, which were presented in 2022 not only in the home base of ART SPACE stift millstatt, but also internationally at various festivals. New versions of the pieces #robotic and #bones [from the ACCUMULATION series] were performed in Millstatt and Ljubljana, #shivering was presented at the SoloDuo Festival Cologne in a new cast, light things and dark things was restaged for Festival UKREP Ljubljana The DANCE film too many heroes was shown at festivals in Germany and Bulgaria. The new productions lost landscapes and「inter relations」(consisting of archipelago 1-7) were premiered at ART SPACE stift millstatt and in the context of the project MONOLITH (initiated by the sculptors Georg Planer and Peter Paszkiewicz) the site-specific production #stone was developed and premiered in the Modre quarry in the Carinthian Malta Valley - along with a second version at Pankratium Haus des Staunens Gmünd. In April, the symposium POSITIONEN 022 | HYBRID FORMATS brought together more than 30 artists from 15 countries and numerous disciplines for a lively exchange at ART SPACE stift millstatt, with representatives from contemporary dance, fine arts, research and education, architecture, monument preservation, design, video and sound art, photography and much more. An A . I . R . residency brought Suhwa Kim from South Korea to ART SPACE stift millstatt, where she explored the themes of virtual reality, composition and chaos and shared her research with the audience in an in : formal presentation.
