Workshop Contact improvisation March 19 & 20 | 11 am – 3 pm
This workshop pays particular attention to listening to each other, and building on this quality, gives rise to physical communication with one another. The aim is to establish a wakeful sense for the impulses of the partner, to be alert for detail and to channel all this information into the physical interaction. We will be busy with techniques and methods to build a basis for flying, balance and an understanding of the partner’s movement flow, in order to find appropriate responses. My teaching is inspired by games, martial arts and playfulness in general, allowing anyone to experience the joy of contact improvisation.

Artist in Residence Artist March: Maayan Reiter
This year, the excellent working conditions of ART SPACE stift millstatt are being utilised by several dance artists for research and rehearsal purposes. The season started off with longstanding NETZWERK AKS member Brigitte Büsken, who in her research was busy with “movement on the edge of silence”. In March, young Israeli artist Maayan Reiter, graduate of SEAD, will start working in Stift Millstatt on her new solo “Let me sleep!”, with dramaturgical assistance by AKS.
Showings: in-formell March 26 | 8 pm Let me sleep! (working title) Maayan Reiter
The presentation format “in-formell” caters to the needs of work in progress. It supports fresh and fragile work and allows artists who are still vulnerable in their process to present themselves to a sensitive audience with their drafts, fragments and questions. This series of studio showings was launched by AKS in 2013 and finds it’s continuation now after the interruption of 2015.
