Wiederaufnahme eines intensiven Tanzsolos choreographiert von Andrea K. Schlehwein für die NETZWERK AKS Tänzerin Maria Mavridou, das im Vorjahr international auf Festivals in Griechenland, Korea, Japan präsentiert wurde. Integriert ist ein Filmfragment, das in einem räumlich für die Tänzerin nicht erreichbaren Lichtspalt die Brutalität der äußeren Welt in stark verpixelten Bildern in ihren von der Außenwelt abgeriegelten Innenraum durchscheinen lasst.
Revival of an intense dance solo choreographed by Andrea K. Schlehwein for NETZWERK AKS dancer Maria Mavridou, presented last year on festivals in Greece, Korea and Japan. A film fragment of pixelated images appearing in a gap of light that is inaccessible to the dancer lets the brutality of the outside world seep into her closed off inner space.

Die ‚butterfly tales‘ folgen dem theoretischen Ansatz der Chaostheorie, dass nämlich jede Aktion eine Reaktion hervorruft, kein Input ohne Output sein kann, jeder Impuls eine Konsequenz zur Folge hat.
Schlehwein zeigt mit ihrem ästhetischen Trio die Fragilität des Daseins in fein polierten Bewegungsbögen, getragen von innerem Empfinden und überraschenden dynamischen Wechseln. Die Choreographie zeigt handwerklich versiert eine vielschichtige, permanente Ablöse und Überlappung von Szenen: vom Solo, zum Duett, zum Tutti. Jeder Impuls erzeugt vibrierend spannende Momente, die Verdichtung von Ereignissen ebenso wie fast private Augenblicke der Ruhe.
AKS geht es hier um die Erforschung demokratischer Verhältnisse auf allen, den Tanz bestimmenden Ebenen: die Gleichstellung der Tänzer*Innen im Raum, die freie Perspektivwahl der Blickwinkel des Publikums ebenso wie die Behandlung des akustischen Materials.
The 'butterfly tales' follow the theoretical concept of chaos theory, namely that every action causes a reaction, no input can exist without output, every impulse leads to a consequence.
In her aesthetic dance trio, Schlehwein shows the fragility of existence in finely polished arcs of movement, carried by internal sensations and surprising dynamic changes. Technically versed, the choreography shows a multi-layered, continuous superseding and overlapping of scenes – from solo to duet to tutti. Each impulse creates vibrantly exciting situations, a condensation of events as well as almost private moments of tranquillity.
What AKS is after here is an investigation of democratic conditions on all levels that determine dance: equality of all dancers in space, free choice of perspective and viewpoint for the audience as well as the treatment of the acoustic material.

Anlässlich des 250. Jahrestages von Beethoven wird in dieser, Beethovens einziger Oper Fidelio, eine neue, moderne Fassung kreiert, in der Tanz, Schauspiel und Klavier zu vier Händen eine aktuelle und spannende Fusion eingehen. Das Leitungsteam (Dr. Brusatti und Prof. Choi) sowie die Protagonist*innen auf der Bühne stammen aus Österreich, Korea und Slowenien. Themen, die uns alle heute angehen, wie die Befreiung des Menschen, die Situation politischer Gefangener und Migration werden in dieser Kontinente übergreifenden Koproduktion behandelt.
On the occasion of Beethoven's 250th birthday, a new and modern version of Beethoven's only opera work Fidelio is created in which dance, acting and piano for four hands enter a contemporary and exciting fusion. The artistic directors (Dr. Brusatti and Prof. Choi) as well as the protagonists on stage come from Austria, Korea and Slovenia. This cross-continental co-productions deals with issues that are still of great concern today, such as human liberation, migration or the situation of political prisoners.

Vier maskierte, optisch fast geklonte Figuren taumeln ebenso orientierungslos wie erfolgssüchtig durch einen unwirtlichen Lebensraum in dem sie die Welt wie die alten griechischen Götter achtlos durch ihr Universum schleudern.
Revised version of the successful production of 5th Goyang International Dance Festival 2019. Four masked, optically almost identical figures, disoriented yet competitive, stumble through a wasteland, carelessly kicking the world around in their universe like ancient Greek gods.

i n : f o r m a l ist eine Serie für junge, zeitgenössische Kunst, ein ungezwungenes Format, dass im zeitgenössischen Tanz verortet ist, sich aber, je nach Bedürfnis der jeweiligen Artist in Residency Künstler*in soweit vom Tanz entfernen darf wie gewünscht und nötig.
Keine ehrliche Auseinandersetzung, ob in der zeitgenössischen Kunst oder im Leben ist vor Beginn der Reise planbar und vorhersehbar.
Wir vertreten die Philosophie, dass gerade die junge Kunst im Aufbruch Unterstützung und Dialog mehr benötigt als Erwartungs- und Präsentationsdruck.
Jede Künstlerin gestaltet ihren Abend selbst und entscheidet, wie der Blick in ihre Werkstatt ausschauen soll, ob als klassische Studiopräsentation oder als Gespräch, als gemeinsames Abendessen, als outdoor event oder als Diskussionsrunde mit Film – alle Formate sind denkbar und werden erst im Verlauf der Residency entschieden.

Dinge, die so nicht zusammen gehören, liegen friedlich geordnet im Geviert nebeneinander. Die Tatsache, dass sie denselben [ S P A C E ] teilen, genügt, um sie zu Statthaltern des Möglichen zu machen.

r o b o t i c MELANCHOLIA is an installation composed of a carefully arranged selection of objects trouvé. Things that usually do not go together lie peacefully next to each other in a square. The fact that they share the same [ S P A C E ] is enough to make them into commanders of possibilities.

Ein wild vibrierendes, stark emotional gefärbtes Tanzduet, das das ICH in zwei Figuren aufspaltet, die einen physisch wie psychischen Zustand des starken Zitterns, das sie unkontrolliert überkommt und zu schmerzhaften Ausbrüchen führt, gemeinsam mit dem Publikum atemlos durchleben läßt. Ein Blick auf Vorurteile unserer Gesellschaft gegenüber Menschen, die sich durch ihr Verhalten nicht in die Masse der scheinbar „gesunden“
integrieren lassen.
A wildly vibrating, strongly emotional dance duet, splitting the I into two characters that breathlessly go together with the audience through a physically and psychologically intense tremor overcoming them uncontrollably and leading to painful outbursts.
An examination of prejudices in our society towards people who, through their behavior, cannot be integrated into the mass of apparently "healthy" people.

Die Teilnehmer*innen haben die Möglichkeit im Rahmen von vier Veranstaltungen verschiedene Phasen choreografischer Konstruktionsarbeit zu erleben und mitzugestalten. Es soll ein dialogischer Raum eröffnet werden, indem die Beteiligten intime Einblicke in die persönliche Arbeitsweise der Künstlerin und Choreografin bekommen.
